As the holidays get closer to wrapping up this year, Michigan Humane and Tito’s Handmade Vodka want to provide a few tips to help make sure both you and your pets enjoy this special season.

Keep gift wrapping supplies in secure places

Ribbons, wrapping paper and bows look great on gifts, but make sure they stay away from your pets’ mouths.

Supervise your pets around holiday plants

Keep an eye on any holiday plants, including your Christmas tree, poinsettia and Christmas cactus. Ingesting these could be harmful to your pets.

Do not feed your pets human food

Cookies and milk are great for Santa but not so great for pets. Keep people food away and out of reach of your furry companions.

Reuse cardboard packages

Hang onto cardboard boxes that gifts arrived in. They make great toys for cats and dogs, and can even double as an enrichment feeder!

Tito’s Handmade Vodka reminds you to please enjoy the holidays responsibly.
