Michigan Humane is proud to once again be part of the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters adoption event this Saturday (May 4). All pet adoptions are $25 during Empty the Shelters. This is an exciting opportunity for you to take home a new family member! Here’s everything you need to know about Empty the Shelters.
What is Empty the Shelters?
Empty the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption event sponsored by the Bissell Pet Foundation. All pet adoptions are just $25 for eligible adopters, with Bissell Pet Foundation covering the remaining costs.
Which Michigan Humane locations are participating?
All Michigan Humane adoption centers will be participating in Empty the Shelters. Locations include our three main shelters in Detroit, Rochester Hills and Westland. Offsite locations such as Petco in Sterling Heights will also participate. You can view a full list of locations and shelter hours on our Locations and Hours page.
What animals are eligible for Empty the Shelters?
All animals who are available to adopt at Michigan Humane are eligible for the $25 Empty the Shelters fee on May 4 during normal hours. View the animals available to adopt on our Adopt a Pet page. Adoptions are on a first come, first served basis. Please speak to a Michigan Humane adoption counselor for details.
Please note that the retired lab beagles are not part of the event.
