As the world continues to deal with the novel coronavirus pandemic, Americans are still adjusting to social distancing to help minimize cases of COVID-19. As we get used to the new normal for now, pet parents have been finding amusing ways to spend time with their kids while they’re quarantined.

Cincinnati’s WLWT anchor and reporter Megan Mitchell tweeted an outstanding dance routine with her dog using the Dua Lipa hit, “Don’t Start Now.”

One of the replies shows that Mitchell has been working on this bit for awhile. I’m glad it finally paid off.

Yoga is hard to do at home as @LindsayPatton shares.

Also, you should follow Lindsay. She’s hilarious AND a Michigan native.

Twitter user @ajakobian pretty much summed up what pets are feeling as they find that they’re not alone at home as much anymore.

It’s not just animals at home that are finding new ways to pass the time. Penguins at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago were able to check out other exhibits under supervision and it was so pure.

I hope you’re all staying safe during these uneasy and unusual times. As a reminder, all pet adoptions at Michigan Humane shelters are suspended through at least Sunday, March 22. The 2020 Purrfect Bow Wow Brunch has also been moved to November 15 at the TCF Center.

This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year so rescheduling delays vital revenue to support the animals in our care as spring approaches. The Michigan Humane Emergency Fund was created to help fill that void. Please consider making a donation of any amount to help Michigan Humane continue saving helpless animals in our communities.
