MHS strongly believes it is important to collaborate with other shelters throughout Michigan and the country. Our Statewide Initiatives department travels around the state visiting other shelters and doing what we can to help (and learning from how other shelters work!), and we invite shelter staff and volunteers to visit us to learn how we run things at MHS.
Our “Visit, Share, Learn” sessions bring shelter staff from all over Michigan to learn more about MHS processes in sheltering dogs and cats. Participants get together to share their ideas and practices from their own shelters and learn from each other, as well as making new friends. Check it out in the video above!
