Britney Wallesch

Black Dog Animal Rescue

This year, our theme is “One Team, One Goal.” We’re proud to welcome keynote speaker, Britney Wallesch, Founder and Executive Director of Black Dog Animal Rescue, a foster-based dog and cat rescue headquartered in Cheyenne, WY. Started ten years ago in her apartment, BDAR has grown to become the largest companion pet rescue in the state of Wyoming.

Britney is a contributing author to the Humane Society of the United States’ Best Practices for Rescue Groups manual, an Executive member of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators, and has been featured on the TedX stage with her talk “No-Kill – A phrase that inspired change, yet continues to divide,’ which can be found on YouTube. She has a B.S. in animal science and zoology from the University of Wyoming and a Masters of Nonprofit Management from Regis University. In 2017, Britney was recognized by the Wyoming Business Alliance as the Woman of Influence in the Non-profit Sector for the State of Wyoming.

Britney shares her home with her husband Johnny and their 9 year old son, Cameron. Together they have four dogs and three cats (occupational hazard). Outside of work, Britney serves on the board of directors for the Wyoming Nonprofit Network and trains both herself and other athletes at a local CrossFit gym.
