Ralph S. Caplan Leadership Circle
As a member of the Ralph S. Caplan Leadership Circle, you join a compassionate, charitable community that believes in the power of the human-animal bond and the value of animals.
Your annual contribution of $10,000 or more will support the critical programs impacting animals in need and help build a healthy, safe, and more economically vibrant community. Your leadership giving in the Ralph S. Caplan Leadership Circle, together will Build a More Humane Community in Southeast Michigan for people and pets. Join Michigan Humane in leading the country to ensure pets are part of the conversation and their needs are met. With your commitment, we can harness the power of the human-animal bond and achieve our vision.
When you join The Ralph S. Caplan Leadership Circle, you’ll benefit from:
- A dedicated Major Gift Officer as a liaison to your giving, program information, and questions/support
- Opportunities to engage with Michigan Humane Leadership, Board of Directors, and programs
- Association with a community of like-minded leaders, philanthropists, and advocates

Humane Heroes
You are invited to join our Humane Heroes Circle, a group of fellow individuals, families, corporate, and foundation partners who are committed to supporting animals in our community.
When you become a Humane Heroes partner, you join a compassionate, charitable community that has served the greater Detroit area since 1877. Through your generous annual donations of $1,000-$9,999, you will provide a powerful impact on pets who need help by fueling the programs that serve animals every day.
When you join the Humane Heroes Circle, you’ll benefit from:
- A dedicated Gift Officer as a liaison for your giving, questions, and support
- Tours of Michigan Humane shelters, clinics and community programs
- Invitations to exclusive opportunities to meet fellow Humane Heroes Circle members and learn more about our work, including Meet the Mission events
- Receive the MichigAnimals newsletter, monthly Kibble, and our annual Community Report, showcasing Michigan Humane’s programs, your gifts and the heartwarming stories about the animal lives you saved.
Your Impact
Major gifts support mission-critical, unrestricted, and restricted programs at Michigan Humane. Annually, your investment in Michigan Humane provides critical care for animals in need in our community, such as:
- 5,000 adoptions to new, loving homes
- 1,400 animal rescues annually through our Cruelty and Investigation/Rescue team
- 4,000 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines for pets in our community
- 1,000 individual enrichment and behavior plans for canines in our shelters
- 2.3 million pounds of pet food and supplies to more than 12,000 families annually
