Found baby bunnies in your backyard?

It is not uncommon to find nests of baby bunnies without their mommas throughtout the spring and summer months.  Don’t be fooled.  Momma rabbits know that they can draw the attention of predators so to keep their babies safe, they purposely stay away from the nest during the day.

They then return at night to feed and snuggle the babies when it’s less likely they’ll be seen (and smelled).  So if you find a nest of baby bunnies, it is usually best to leave them alone.  Mom is probably nearby and waiting to come home - which she certainly won’t do with us humans hanging around!
