The Story of Hank Azul

Dog rescued from the streets finds loving home

July 14, 2015

MHS cruelty investigators were on the road to investigate a cruelty complaint when they spotted two dogs on the side of the road.

Upon further investigation, one of the dogs was deceased - likely struck by a car and killed. The other dog was standing guard over the body of his friend.

This dog was taken from the scene, though he led our investigators back to the body of the other dog to nudge him with his nose, one last time. He was brought to the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care where he was given medical care and put up for adoption.

The dog, named Hank Azul, was adopted by a loving family. Stories like this are made possible by donations from people like you. Please donate today!
