Puppy rescued after a house fire

December 22, 2015

The MHS rescue team was called about a dog who had survived a house fire and needed care.

They arrived to the scene to find a young black and white dog tied to a tree by oxygen tubing to keep her from running off while firefighters attended to the fire. She was lucky to have survived - the other dog in the home did not come out alive.

The owner asked to surrender the dog to MHS, so the MHS rescue driver took the dog back to the Detroit Center for Animal Care, where she was given medical attention, food, water, vaccinations and a warm blanket.

The dog, who was named Chili, was placed on the adoption floor and found a new forever family.
