The Michigan Humane Society Court-Ordered Community Service Program provides opportunities for individuals who are over the age of 18 that have been court ordered to perform community service of 20 or more hours. Court-ordered community service volunteers will not work directly with the animals, but may assist with other janitorial tasks and projects as available.
These opportunities are available at our Detroit adoption center only. Opportunities for these positions are 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please visit the Detroit adoption center and ask for a blue Court-Ordered Community Service Application (not available online).
Please note: failure to complete a blue Court-Ordered Community Service Application prior to volunteering will prevent an applicant from having hours validated by MHS to a court official.
