Dog and Cat Adoption Fees MHS Offers the Very Best Adoption Value
The Michigan Humane Society offers the very best value in finding a four-legged friend. MHS starts with a detailed screening of each animal, including a medical exam and behavior assessment, followed by spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, and more. But the value doesn't end with adoption. Post-adoption benefits include Adopter Support, a free Behavior Help Line, and an adoption reference package to take home with you. The adoption of any MHS pet also entitles you and your new friend to one full year of valuable MHS Alumni Club benefits following the pet's adoption!
Canine Adoption Fees:
- Puppy (4 months or younger) or lap dog (20 lbs or less): $275
- Other canines: $175
- Puppy or lap dog at MHS PetSmart/Petco offsite locations: $300
- Other canines at MHS PetSmart/Petco offsite locations: $200
Feline Adoption Fees:
- Cat or kitten: $45
- Two cats or kittens adopted together: $65
- Cat or kitten at MHS PetSmart/Petco offsite locations: $65 each/$95 for a pair
Dog & Cat Adoptions Include*:

- Basic Medical Exam

- Parasite Control/Deworming
- Heartworm Test (dogs)
- Microchipping (cats)
- Feline Leukemia Test (cats)
