Paw Prints Grief Support Group The loss of a pet can be felt as intensely as the loss of a family member Saying goodbye is never easy. When a beloved pet passes away, bereaved pet owners may experience an emotional, lonely walk through their time of grief. Our animal companions are considered by many to be family members, and their loss can be felt just as intensely. Yet, not everyone fully understands the depth of the loss felt by grieving pet owners. The Michigan Humane Society’s Paw Prints Grief Support Group is available to help. The Paw Prints Grief Support Group provides pet owners a safe place to meet and talk about the loss of their beloved pet with others experiencing a similar loss. Rather than a counseling session, it is a group environment where individuals can talk openly and honestly about their experience of loss and how it affects them in their daily life, while sharing any favorite stories about their pet, as well as photographs, scrapbooks, letters or other pet mementos, with others who understand and care. There is no time limit on grieving. Participants are welcome to attend as many sessions as they would like. SESSIONS: First Saturday of each month, excluding major holidays, from Noon to 1:30 p.m. Please check the website for schedule changes.  LOCATION: Michigan Humane Society Administrative Office 30300 Telegraph Rd, Suite 220 Bingham Farms, MI 48025 View map and driving directions Look for the Bingham Office Park signs, south of 13 Mile Rd, on the east side of Telegraph Rd. Our building shares a north-side drive with the 30400 building. Park/enter on the north side of our 30300 building. MHS is the first suite on the 2nd floor. An elevator is available.
