A Mega Thank You: 2012 Mega March for Animals Thank you for helping pets go from Homeless to Loved!
Approximately 7,000 animal lovers and hundreds of their devoted companions packed the streets of Detroit and Kensington MetroPark on Sunday for the Michigan Humane Society’s (MHS) seventh annual Mega March for Animals. Two and four-legged marchers took over Hart Plaza, Woodward Avenue and the Kent Lake lakefront in support of MHS and the thousands of animals that MHS cares for every year. This year’s Mega March for Animals, the largest and most successful in the event’s history, raised more than $370,000.
We are humbled and extremely grateful for the outpouring of the community, who dedicated both their time and hard-earned money to the thousands of animals in need right now. With this tremendous support, MHS is one step closer to our critical goal of guaranteeing a home for every healthy and treatable animal that depends on us keeping our doors open to every animal in need.
While the Mega March may be over, it’s not too late to make a difference. Donations can still be made online, or by calling 1-866-MHUMANE (648-6263). Any offline donations can be mailed to:
