Stop Your Puppy or Kitten from Nipping

There is one thing puppies and kittens do share.  Many of them tend to go through a nipping stage.  You know, when they get overly excited and nip during playtime?   While our pups and kittens are trying to learn the rules of play, it is not very pleasant for the humans on the other end of those sharp “baby teeth.”  To teach appropriate play, always have a toy with you and encourage your pet to put his teeth on the toy before you try to pet him.  If he goes for your hand anyway, say “oops” and stop play immediately.  Never use your hands or feet as toys by dangling them in front of your pet.  Be consistent and soon your pet will learn to keep his teeth to himself.
