I just recently lost my cat and luckily he came home! The best advice I got while I was searching was "tell your mail carrier that you're looking for your cat, they walk everywhere".
Also try social networking like facebook. or tell the people in your neighborhood who you know go jogging, or kids who ride their bikes around.
