"The Tipping Point: Recognizing and Responding to Animal Hoarding"
Jyothi Robertson, DVM, Graduate, UC-Davis KSMP & Owner of JVR Shelter Strategies, LLC

Dr. Robertson’s presentation will focus on the impact of hoarding on the animals and community as a whole. Specifically, she will present the major classifications of animal hoarders, and the current working psychological model on how we believe animal hoarding progresses in humans.

She will also discuss how to spot animal hoarding tendencies in clients and rescue organizations, and key questions to ask these groups when deciding to work with them. There will also be a discussion on the major clinical signs and symptoms seen in animals from hoarding situations, and the role of the veterinarian in animal hoarding cases.  She will briefly cover the community response to hoarding and what role different agencies will play.
