The Michigan Humane Society 2012 Protect-A-Pet clinics offer low-cost, age-appropriate vaccinations against Distemper, Parvovirus, Rabies and other deadly diseases as well as low-cost microchipping for dogs and cats of pet guardians demonstrating low-income status (please see list of accepted forms below). In addition, low-cost spay/neuter information will be available at all clinics.

To qualify
Acceptable proof of limited-income must be presented for low-cost pet vaccinations and microchipping:

  • All animals must be on leashes or in carriers.
    Proof of Unemployment Compensation
  • SOM Medicaid or Medical Assistance card
  • FIP (Family Independence Program)
  • Social Security Disability
  • Food Stamps/Bridge Card
  • WIC

Pricing
With proof of limited-income:

Pet Licenses available at a reduced rate for Detroit residents
License vouchers redeemable at Detroit Animal Control will be available at all clinics. Detroit residents only.

  • License for unspayed or unneutered pet: $10
  • License for spayed or neutered pet: $5

Microchips

  • $10.00 for each animal

Vaccinations are $3.00 for each shot

  • Rabies Vaccinations - Healthy Dogs & Cats Over 4 Months Old
  • FVRCP - Healthy Cats Over 6 Weeks Old
  • DHLP-P Vaccinations - Healthy Dogs Over 6 Weeks Old

Payment will be accepted in the form of cash only. Services will be limited to 800 animals at each clinic. All clinics are held from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

24520 N. Chrysler Dr. Hazel Park, MI 48030. Located on the east side of the I-75 service drive north of 9 Mile Rd., west of John R.
> May 4: Clark Park
Detroit, MI 48209. South of Vernor, north of Lafayette/ I-75 service drive, west of Scotten east of Clark. Scotten side of park.
> June 1: Balduck Park
Detroit, MI 48224. 4 blocks south of Moross, north of Mack, east side of Chandler Park Drive.
> June 22:  Palmer Park
Detroit, MI 48223. 7 mile and Woodward, near pool entrance.
> July 13: Stoepel #1 Park
Detroit, Mi 48223. South of Outer Drive. East of Evergreen.
